Our name derives from Omega - the final letter of the Greek alphabet and our credo is to begin with the end in mind.

Omega believes superior results can be achieved by fostering an environment of stability, continuity and appropriate incentives for its investment professionals. The business is majority owned by employees, with a management team which has gained significant investment management experience with world-class investment firm, along with Macquarie Global Investments which holds a 19.9% equity stake in Omega.

Omega believes to control investment outcomes (the end) investors must begin with controlling risk (the beginning). Omega aims to build investment strategies and solutions which limit downside risk whilst capturing upside return.

To begin with the end in mind, Omega has gone back to the beginning.  In fact, to Harry Markowitz, winner of the Nobel Prize for economics, and the acknowledged father of modern portfolio theory.  Markowtiz demonstrated that increasing the number and spread of securities brings a reduction in risk through diversification.

Thanks to Markowitz, investment management forever changed, as investors sought to create portfolios that accounted for risk, allowing investors to determine the return required for their level of risk.

It is this thinking which guides our investment approach.
